Lagrasse

Part of the Aude department in the Occitanie region of southern France. The history of Lagrasse goes back over a thousand years.
The Abbey of Sainte-Marie de Lagrasse, at the heart of Lagrasse’s history, was founded in the eighth century by Charlemagne.
Today, Lagrasse is a thriving tourist village, with the Abbey on one side of the river Orbieu and residents’ houses, restaurants and craft stores on the other.
